B.Sc. Thesis: Modeling and Experimental Investigation of a Spiral Plate Heat Exchanger

A spiral plate heat exchanger was designed and fabricated. Experimental studies were conducted using water in both cold and hot sides. The effectiveness of the system was investigated and correction factors were evaluated for low NTUs. The theoretical results of heat transfer were in good agreements with the experimentations. A correlation for Nusselt number was introduced for low Reynolds numbers.
